M.A.G.I.C = Meaning, Automny, Growth, Impact, and ConnectionAll employees whether they are the CEO or the Janitor ultimately want to feel valued and seen. Companies with high employee engagement have on average 89% greater customer care satisfaction and 59% lower turnover. According to a Gallup poll, 69% of employees say they are ready to work harder if their bosses appreciated their efforts better. Applying the MAGIC framework is one way for leaders to communicate to their employees they are valued. The key to unlocking the secret to employee engagement is authentincity. If employees think their leaders are trying to pretend to care about them because they see a dollar sign above their heads then their efforts will fail.I have helped boost engagement by leading by example and leading with empathy, courage, and kindness. I achieved a 220% engagement boost by rebranding a high-impact annual peer to peer recognition program. Click below for additional details about this program and others.
At the heart of almost every employee conflict is a misunderstanding and breakdown in communication. I have successfully resolved over 50+ lower level investigations and assisted with the resolution of 50+ complex cases. The most effective strategy to resolve supervisor to employee conflicts is by building strong relationships from the moment an employee is hired.Akin to baking the perfect cake, forging strong leader to employee relationships comes down to having the right ingredients.Click here to learn more about secrets to sweet supervisor success.

Effective HR leaders understand that they can not do everything alone. You need SLT support, team member assistance, and a strong management of yourself. There have been many positive outcomes that resulted from strong strategic partnerships. This five-level leadership training program I helped to create & launch at the largest non-profit Community College in Oklahoma is one of my favorite deliverables. The name of this program is called Leadership Academy and included classes targeting all levels of leadership. To help promote this program, we partnered with our Marketing/Media/Accessibility and IT teams to create the promotional video below. I was honored and humbled to help lead this project by creating the slidedeck used for the content and adding my creative flair for storytelling by narrarating. This video is publicly available on YouTube, so I am sharing it here. The most valuable asset an organization possesses is its people. People are complex and each has unique talents, gifts, quirks, and personalities. It should come as no surprise that they are also motivated by different things based on what they value. The exact purpose of this is made up of multiple factors, such as their generation, communication style, and lived experiences.Everyone has a story to tell, but few people take the necessary time to listen to what their employees have to say. Employees are always talking to us, even if they do not say a word. Their behaviors, whether positive (such as demonstrating high CSR or commitment to organizational goals) or negative (such as high absenteeism, increased interpersonal conflicts, and low performance), are just a few of the ways employees speak to the leaders in their organizations. One of my favorite quotes is, "People may forget what you said or what you did, but they will never forget how you made them feel." - Maya Angelou. I love stories of all kinds, whether it's a well-written book, an impactful song, or a compelling movie; but I especially love hearing and telling the stories of employees.Click the purple button below to learn more about how I create stories that promote connection.
